PERSONA DOLLS by Diane Davis - Bailey
Persona Dolls are unique and a useful tool in teaching children that we can look different but are all the same underneath. The dolls really do develop their own personality and children identify with the stories set around each individual doll. Our very own Diane has been involved in the making, marketing and teaching with persona dolls. The dolls found themselves in the middle of some controversy a while back but at F.M.S we believe that if the grown ups are at least talking about race and discrimination issues then the project has to be worthwhile.
Forth Valley Migrant Support Network working with Diane hopes to develop the dolls further. The actual integration of migrants as well as local people starts at outset when the dolls are made. This would take place as a modern day sewing circle the difference being that the class would be multi-cultural. Completed dolls could then be used in education to the masses. Diane`s unique approach to education and diversity is built on a lifetime of seeing prejudice and discrimination at its ugliest. Diane has taken any negativities in her life and turned them into positives she brightens up any room , hall and function and instils confidence in everyone she meets.
Diane is available for Education services and Corporate events.
