Practical guidance and support to get you back into employment

We understand the challenges of looking for a job during these unprecedented times — and we’re here to help.

We offer one-to-one socially distanced or virtual appointments to anyone who is job searching. We support people gain the tools, practical skills and confidence to step back into employment or move into further learning.

To develop your employability skills and confidence we offer support with:

  • Job search skills, understanding the job market in the UK and the process of applying for jobs.
  • Recognising your personal skills and strengths, matching your skills and experience to an employers job description.
  • Writing a CV, covering letters and filling out job application forms.
  • Building confidence at interview , finding out what is expected and get a chance to practice.
  • Building  your digital skills  –focusing on the use of Microsoft Office Word ( creating a text-based document) and Excel ( how to begin working with functions and formulas).
  • Developing telephone skills for job interviews and in the workplace.
  • Understanding your employment rights, payslip, tax code, NI, income tax, P45, P60, P800 form.  
  • Accessing Further Education, training or volunteering.
  • Free access to computer, Internet, telephone, photocopiers, printers.
