English classroom assistant 

We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers to support the delivery of our Learn English Together conversation club. The volunteers will assist the English tutor to improve practical English language skills of migrants, refugees and newcomers to Scotland. This role involves a weekly commitment at a regular time to support a small group of adult learners for 2 hours. The typical tasks include:

• Helping the tutor prepare the learning space and materials;
• Engaging adult learners in informal conversations, group activities or games to help them practise speaking English;
• Providing learners with one-to-one or small-group support to develop their knowledge and skills, encouraging and inspiring participants to reach their full potential.

You do not need to be a qualified teacher or have teaching experience. Very strong English language skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people of different races, cultures and religious backgrounds are essential. We particularly welcome volunteers from the communities where our learners are based.

The minimum commitment is 3 months. Induction will be given. Ongoing training is offered. Travel expenses will be covered.

Get Together Breakfast Club assistant

We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly female volunteers to support the delivery of our Get Together Breakfast Club. The volunteers will assist the Project Coordinator to  deliver, lead and co-facilitate the group sessions for women from the Eastern European migrant communities aged 50 and over.  The volunteers should take responsibility for a range of sessions preparation tasks. These may include buying refreshments, arranging the venue, etc.

This role involves a weekly commitment at a regular time for 2 hours. The minimum commitment is 3 months. Induction will be given. Ongoing training is offered. Travel expenses will be covered.

Graphic Design Volunteer

This is an opportunity to put your creative skills into action and into producing promotional materials while supporting a small local organisation. Make a difference from the comfort of your own home by helping us stand out so we can reach the right audience. 
You will apply your skills to produce things like:
• promotional flyers and posters;
• social media graphics and gifs; animation;
• website and newsletter design;
• marketing templates

If you’re new to design and want to build your portfolio, graphic design volunteering can be a great way to network, build relationships and add to your portfolio.

Community Language Volunteer

Are you a bilingual? Are you fluent in English and in your native language? Do you want to apply your linguistic skills to benefit others? Can you spare a few hours weekly?

If your answer is YES to the questions above, join our friendly team of volunteers. As a community language volunteer, you will assist our service users with limited English to communicate with organisations and people.

Office/admin Volunteer

If you are looking for experience for your CV or you’re interested in developing your admin and reception skills, then you may enjoy volunteering with us at Forth Valley Migrant Support Network for a few hours weekly. You’ll be making a tangible difference and you’ll be helping us run an efficient office!

We need someone with good I.T. skills who is friendly, welcoming, and great with people. Administration duties include answering the telephone, letting visitors into the building, filing, photocopying, updating databases, sending emails, letters, and keeping accurate records. Training for the role will be provided and out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Social Media Volunteer

Join our team in a volunteering from home role, all done around your own life. It will probably take 3-4 hours or so a week to create an attractive Facebook posts to let people know what's happening within the organisation, promote our services and up-coming activities, and share news. 
Tasks will include:
• creating engaging Facebook posts to grow our followers and reach more people in need of the support we offer;
• scheduling and posting social media content on Facebook;
• assisting with marketing for Forth Valley Migrant Support Network.

Understanding the various social media platforms would be helpful along with good communication skills and an ability to create engaging content.
